The Difference Between Full Coverage and Liability
Getting insured is an important process when getting a car. It is law to have at least liability insurance before you are allowed to drive the car off the lot. People always debate on whether or not to go with a certain type because of the prices between the two. There are many things that you need to take into consideration when you are trying to make the decision. But what is the difference between liability and full coverage?
Liability car insurance is the most basic of all insurance plans. This is the insurance that is going to cover the other driver’s car and injuries. Your car is not going to be covered. The main sections of liability insurance are: coverage for bodily injury per person, coverage for all injuries occurred for every accident, and property damage coverage. You are going to save a lot of money when you get liability car insurance in your premiums, but you might lose on the time of a car accident. Liability car insurance is going to be your best bet if you want to save money on your premium and feel confident on your driving abilities.
Full coverage is everything that you get with liability coverage including other coverages. These two are collision and comprehensive coverage. Your comprehensive is going to take care of all the extra stuff besides the actual crash. It is going to cover you in cases of threat and fire and other things nature can do to your car. You are going to have a higher premium but you are going to be protected in many different areas of your car. Depending on the situation, you will be paying a lot less than you would have had you liability car insurance.
The bottom line is that it all depends on the location of where you have your car, and the record of your driving. You are going to have to weigh the options that you are going to have. The different insurances are for people who feel that they don’t need the extra coverage. When you have a low-profile car that you did not pay much for, chances are going with the Liability car insurance will be the best for you because of the fact that it is not a popular car to be stolen and if you crash it, you paid a low price for the car and you can buy a new one. With those of nice high-profile cars, they are going to need the full coverage.
